The days before Xmas were very wet and windy. All the same Lucca was just beautiful. They do xmas so well here; the decorations are elegant; the shops are inviting; the bars more so. there are a couple of good Xmas markets. They light up a lot of the key settings like the antiteatro and some of the churches. Have a look at the photos. On xmas day the clouds cleared and the sun came out. Brilliantly clear. And on New Year’s day we could see it was snowing up at Abetone although we were still in the sunshine.
